Dal vegetable khichdi for babies | How to make vegetable rice for babies
khichdi recipes are usually mixing dhal and
rice together. This video is all about adding dal, vegetables and rice
together. khichdi is one of the best way to add all vegetables. This khichdi recipe for babies is flavorful tasty and Im sure your little one will love it.
When to feed
You can feed this vegetable khichdi starting from nine month on wards
Ingredients :
- Rice - 2 tbsp
- Dal - 1 tbsp (either moong dal or toor dal)
- carrot - a small piece
- beetroot - a small piece
- onion - 1 small
- beans - 2 nos
- garlic
- asafoetida/ hing - a pich
- turmeric - a pinch
- jeera - a little
- salt - a little
- water - 1 cup
1. Take rice and dal together and wash it for at least 2 to 3 times and then soak them for at least 10 minutes before you start cooking
2. Cut the vegetable into small pieces
3. Transfer all the ingredients listed above in the cooker and add 1 cup of water
4. pressure cook it for 4 whistles
5. Transfer it to a mixie and add little water(if you want) and get it blended according to your preference
6. Top it up with ghee and feed your little one
Notes#
- You can use vegetables as per your choice and as per availability
- You can very well avoid adding salt if your baby is less than 1 year.
- if your baby has turned nine months old it is the right time to introduce ghee in your baby's food and this dhal vegetable khichdi tastes better and very good when it is mixed with ghee.
